I had a good day at Wasootch Crag today with Bill, Peter and Jesse. I also got some pictures of myself for once! Good day, except that one bit with the suicidal deer.
Oh yeah, can't forget the crag dog.

Ken Jones Classic @ Lake Louise
Ian was complaining about how fast I posted this.
Why do races have to be early in the morning? Also, what is up with the light?
This picture shows that Reiner is too fast to be photographed. It's also a glorious view of the euro mullet/rat tail.
Visibility at the top-not much.
Entertainment was provided by people faceplanting.
Oh yeah, blower pow was skied... on skinny skis in lycra.
I'm sure there will be a better write up at Golden SkiMo
And finally, a really expensive broken thing.

Dogtooth Dash
This weekend I cruised over to Golden for this year's Dogtooth Dash ski mountaineering race. It's the second race I have been to at KHMR, and I continue to be impressed. But, you just want to see pictures.
We can start off with the most obviously posed picture here. Bill's pre-race suffer face.
DtD has a very cool start, the racers run a lap around the restaurant before getting into their skis for the initial descent.
After getting the start photos, I jumped into my own skis and bombed down to the first transition. And people told me I couldn't make it in time to get these guys...
The racers did their thing for a while, and I met back up with them as they bootpacked a narrow chute called Tunnel Vision.
Conditions were interesting, with clouds coming in and out, and the light going from perfect to flat at a moment's notice.
I then jumped over to the final bootpack through Bowl Over.
And finally, some shots from the home stretch.
Overall, this was a good time. Big thanks to Ian Gale for the breakfast burrito, Parks for closing the road, and the guy who tailgated me with his lights in my mirror all the way from radium to castle junction.
